COVID-19 Safety Practices

The situation with COVID-19 has quickly shifted the landscape of our community, and we at Higgins Energy Alternatives and Higgins Powersports have been closely monitoring the disease and taken appropriate actions to help slow the spread. Our priority continues to be the health and well-being of our employees and our customers, and to keep our community safe and healthy.

Outlined below are our COVID-19 safety protocols to keep you and your families, as well as our employees and families, safe.

  • We are monitoring our staff’s health daily. We have a designated COVID-19 Safety Officer going to each employee daily, checking their temperature with an infrared thermometer, making sure all employees have PPE, and requiring a sign-off sheet asking about any contact to exposed person(s) and any symptoms. Any employee who is sick is sent home and cannot return to work until tested negative for COVID-19 according to CDC guidelines.
  • Our team members wear masks during work when social distancing is not possible.
  • We are asking that if you can, please wear a mask if you enter our building.
  • If you choose to not enter our building, we have established contactless curbside pickup for any parts, accessories, or service orders you have placed. We also have contactless payment procedures for many of our services. Please call or text us if you have any questions on how to use these tools.
  • We have transitioned much of our sales process to online and over-the-phone procedures to limit the number of people in our building.
  • NO APPOINTMENT IS REQUIRED TO VISIT, however we are requesting that when you arrive, please wear a mask/facial covering and keep 6-ft distance between yourself and others.
  • We are ensuring social distancing within our stores with cones marking highly trafficked areas to ensure 6-foot distance between customers and employees.
  • We have installed plexiglass barriers on our counters to ensure limited contact.
  • Our service team still performing servicing, installations, and deliveries, but with enhanced cleaning protocols, such as wiping down and disinfecting their tools, trucks, and similar work items in between each visit to ensure no cross-contamination.
  • We are requesting that during service, installation, or delivery appointments, please keep children, pets, and other family members in a separate room away from the service technician to keep contact limited.
  • We have hand sanitizer and disinfectant wipes at every major station in our store and are disinfecting all highly trafficked areas of our building as often as possible, including bathrooms, door handles, service counters, seats, office tools, and other highly-touched areas.
  • We have CDC approved posters in our building in the bathrooms, kitchen, and front doors with reminders of how to stay safe and keep those around you safe.
