Marco Tellerico

My name is Marco Tellerico. I grew up in CT, attended college in NY, and now live with my wife and 3 kids in MA. I have been in the hearth industry going on 3 years and am always looking to further my education and skills. When I am not working, I can usually be found adventuring with my wife and children, whether we are at sports games, school functions, or just playing around outside.

Marco’s experience & certifications:

I have 6 years of experience in the hearth industry and have received many certifications and licenses, including: FIRE Certified Inspector, NFI Pellet, NFI Wood, NFI Hearth Design Specialist, National Chimney Sweep Guild (NCSG) Certified Chimney Professional, EPA 608 Type II Certification.

I have also received specialized training for several manufacturers, including Harman, Travis Industries (Lopi, Fireplace Xtrordinair), Jotul, and Mitsubishi Mini Splits.

These certifications and credentials involve extensive training in classrooms and hands-on in the field, in addition to consistent renewal every 1-3 years.

Marco’s recognitions & awards:

I’ve been recognized by the Housecall Pro 40 Under 40 Blue Collar Honoree List!

From HouseCall Pro: “Marco Tellerico was pouring drinks as a bartender and bar manager when he decided to make a change. He walked into the hearth industry in 2019 and did not stop until he had more certifications than almost anyone in his region: CSIA, NFI Wood, NFI Pellet, NFI Hearth Design Specialist, and F.I.R.E. Certified Inspector, all earned in just a few years. The company he works for, Higgins Energy Alternatives, now has 1,100 reviews at 4.9 stars. Marco is the kind of story the trades need told: that it is never too late to start, and when you start, you can be the best. Congratulations to Marco on being named a 2026 Trades 40 Under 40 honoree.”

If you could share one piece of advice with homeowners about their stoves or fireplaces, what would it be?

There are some areas of life we can take shortcuts. Using fire in our homes is NOT one of those areas. Let’s do things correct today to avoid problems (or catastrophes) in the future.
